Prince Harry claims that he and Meghan Markle don’t have to give up their Royal titles as Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Harry and Meghan have kept their titles even though they stated in early 2020 that they would no longer be doing official royal activities.
Some opponents have questioned why the pair hasn’t abandoned their positions as senior members in light of their recent admissions about that time; Harry has a straightforward response.
As he told host Anderson Cooper during his Jan. 8 interview with 60 Minutes: “What difference would that make?”
Harry, whose memoir, Spare, is scheduled to be released on January 10, acknowledged he’d attempted a different strategy with his family earlier in response to the criticism the two have received for making such widely reported pronouncements after their move from across the pond.
“Every single time I’ve time I’ve tried to do it privately, there would be briefings and leakings and planting stories against me and my wife,” he said. “You know, the family motto is never complain, never explain but it’s just a motto.”
