England has named a 15-player roster for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2023.
Head Coach Jon Lewis has stated that she is still recovering from a broken collarbone suffered during the West Indies tour in December 2022.
In response to a question about her physical condition, Lewis said, “We hope Alice is fit enough. She’s worked incredibly hard with the medical staff to get to this point and we’ll give her every chance. But as we saw in the Caribbean, the depth of talent and skill in the squad is growing fast, and winning tournaments is about everyone collectively embracing the moment and enjoying the journey.”
The majority of the T20I squad that defeated West Indies 5-0 has been retained by England because they have faith in their current crop of athletes. Kate Cross is the other new member of the team in addition to Capsey. As back-ups, Issy Wong and Dani Gibson will go with the team.
