Sanju Samson is replaced by Jitesh Sharma for next matches

  • India’s wicketkeeper Sanju Samson was injured.
  • He was injured during the first Twenty20 against Sri Lanka.
  • Jitesh Sharma has been picked as his replacement.

Sanju Samson, who plays wicketkeeping and batting for India, will not be able to participate in the two Twenty20 Internationals that India still has left against Sri Lanka.

During the first Twenty20 International, Samson received a knock to the knee when he was fielding, and he was afterwards taken for scans. A professional recommended that he have some rest and rehabilitation, and as a result, he won’t be able to play in the next two Twenty20 Internationals in this series.

Samson was fielding the ball close to the ropes when he attempted to dive and stop a boundary, but his left leg got trapped in the dirt and he couldn’t make the dive.

According to reports, the wicketkeeper batsman did not accompany the team on their trip to Pune and instead remained in Mumbai for the scans.
Jitesh Sharma, who has never played for India before, has been picked as his successor by the BCCI.

In his first year playing in the Indian Premier League (2022), Jitesh had a remarkable year with the Punjab Kings, scoring 234 runs at a strike rate of 163.64 in the lower middle order.

The hard-hitting hitter, who is 29 years old and has participated in a total of 76 Twenty20 matches, has a career strike rate that is close to 150.
