- Physio Cliffe Deacon will compile a report on Haris Rauf’s fitness.
- The ODI squad for the home series against New Zealand is announced.
- The 16-person team was going to be announced today.
Cliffe Deacon, the physio for the Pakistan team, has been tasked with compiling a special report on Haris Rauf’s fitness before the interim selection committee announces the ODI squad for the home series against New Zealand.
Rauf joined the national Test team during the series against New Zealand so that he could continue his recovery under the watch of the team’s doctors.
Sources say that Deacon’s report will have a big impact on whether or not Rauf is in the ODI squad. During practise, the team’s physiotherapist kept a close eye on the fast bowler.
During the Test that was going on, Deacon was seen in the nets a lot with Rauf. As soon as he joined the team, the right-arm pacer kept bowling during lunch and tea breaks.
The 16-person team was going to be announced today by an interim selection committee led by Shahid Khan Afridi. Sources say that the announcement has been put off until tomorrow because the company is waiting for Deacon’s report on Rauf’s health.
Rauf hurt his thigh when he rolled over a ball while fielding in Rawalpindi during the first Test against England. He couldn’t play in the last two Tests against the English, and he also missed the current Tests against New Zealand.
He was one of 24 people who could play in the ODI series.
