Andy Cohen & Anderson Cooper managed to have a little bit of fun while drinking on this year’s “New Year’s Eve Live” special.

The two drank non-alcoholic mystery shots to ring in 2023 despite CNN forbidding them from drinking alcohol on Saturday night.

During the live show, the longtime friends addressed “the elephant in the room,” assuring viewers that there would still be something about drinking at the top of every hour.

Following the administration of shots of pickle juice, apple cider vinegar, and buttermilk to him and his co-host, 55, Cohen, 54, hysterically exclaimed to the producers that he “needed tequila.”

Cohen stated, “We’ll take the shot, and then we’ll guess what it was,” to Cooper’s remark, “Honestly, this is no different to me since alcohol tastes horrible in all forms.”

The historic event came after Cohen’s infamous, intoxicated outburst from the previous year, in which he mockingly attacked former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and referred to Ryan Seacrest’s team and production as “a bunch of losers.”

After CNN forbade its contributors from drinking because of his on-air conduct, the Bravo executive previously told he wouldn’t be doing so this year.

He exclusively told us, clarifying remarks he made to Rolling Stone more than a month ago regarding drinking during the broadcast, “We aren’t drinking, but we’re going to have a BLAST.”

He at the time informed the media that “CNN said the correspondents will not be drinking.” “Anderson and I will be the ones having a good time on CNN, but we will be having a good time responsibly.”

The TV personality even made light of the fact that he would “burn the place” and “go out” back to his home base at Bravo soon after the ball dropped.

For everyone watching us on New Year’s Eve, “my role is to be a party ringleader,” he continued. And I’ll keep acting in that way.
