Saudi Arabia seals 71 mosques for violating Coronavirus SOPs

71 mosques were sealed by the government of Saudi Arabia for violating the Coronavirus SOPs.

According to the News Agency, the Saudi government has sealed off 71 mosques that violate the Ministry of Health’s SOPs for preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

The media reports said, Saudi Minister of Religious Affairs Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Sheikh confirmed that the virus spread from more than 70 mosques as a result of non-observance of health precautions for worshipers. These mosques have been closed.

A statement posted on the micro-blogging website Twitter said, the lack of commitment to the COVID-19 protocol and health precautions had led to the spread of the Coronavirus in some mosques, leading to the closure of 71 mosques across the country.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s health ministry said 3,369 new cases of coronavirus had been reported in the kingdom, with 34 new deaths, while 1,632 patients were at risk in the country.
