A man in his twenties was stabbed to death in Peckham Rye park in south-east London, and he later passed away.

Friday evening at approximately 20:25 local time, officers were sent to Straker’s Road in Peckham Rye Park, where they discovered the injured guy. A short time later, it was confirmed that he had passed away.

According to the Metropolitan Police, there have been no arrests made, and the area immediately surrounding the scene has been closed off.

Anyone who witnessed the crime or has any information should get in touch with the police.

The race, which was supposed to take place in the park on New Year’s Eve and was scheduled to take place on Saturday morning, was cancelled, according to the event’s organizers.

Peckham Rye Parkrun tweeted: “The park is currently closed and cordoned off to the public and we have been advised to cancel. Our thoughts are with everyone involved.”
