Russia has fired scores of missiles towards cities located across the country, according to officials in Ukraine.
According to Kyiv’s Mayor Vitaly Klischko, the city has been hit by many explosions, which have resulted in property damage and at least one fatality.
The assaults took place two days after Russia carried out one of the most significant air strikes since the conflict began.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has issued a warning that Russia might launch additional attacks so that Ukrainians would “enjoy the New Year in darkness.”
The governor of Mykolaiv, Vitaly Kim, made the announcement on Facebook that there had been reports of Russian missile launches.
He remarked, “The occupants have chosen to try their best to make today miserable for us.”
People in Kyiv, who were celebrating the New Year, dashed for cover when air raid sirens began sounding in the city at lunchtime.
As a result of the explosions, emergency personnel were dispatched to three different areas. The nation’s air defenses have been brought online throughout all of its areas.
