Megxit may have been planned by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle before their big royal wedding in 2018.

In their new, controversial Netflix show, the Duke of Sussex says that they had been planning their shocking move for “at least two years.”

As Harry and his wife fought to leave the Firm, he had long talks with his father, King Charles, and his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Before they moved to Canada, Meghan and Harry were planning to move to either New Zealand or South Africa.

In the show, the Duke says that they decided to go to Canada after the media found out about their plan. He said that the news got out to the media the day after he told his father, who was then the Prince of Wales and is now King Charles, about it.

The Sussexes had been doing charity work in South Africa, so it was a possibility. After moving to Canada at first, the Duke and Duchess moved to California with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
