In the next season of Shadow and Bone on Netflix, a character that people really liked will be back.

The fantasy series is based on Leigh Bardugo’s best-selling Grishaverse books, such as the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Six of Crows duology.

In a new picture from TVLine, Genya, a Grisha tailor, looks very upset as she stands in front of the Queen of Ravka. This is the first look at Genya or the Queen from the second season, which will start soon.

The way Genya comes back into the story and the tension between her and the Queen in this picture already raise a lot of interesting questions about what will happen next in the series. The image may also be a hint that the Queen of Ravka is probably no longer in quarantine for fear of catching her husband’s “sickness.”

In the first season of the show, Genya told Alina that she is a spy and soldier for the Darkling. She told him that she approves of how far he’ll go to protect Grisha, and that this is more important than their friendship.

Later, it was found out that Genya poisoned the King of Ravka. This was how she finally got her long-awaited revenge after years of being hurt by the King. The Queen might have found out the truth about what Genya did, which would explain why she looked so angry and Genya looked so upset. Genya may also be upset because the Queen told her what the Darkling did at the end of Shadow and Bone season 1.

But at the end of the season, the Darkling uses tricks to take control of Alina and her Sun Summoner powers.

The second season will come out on March 16, 2023.
