In the first Test of a two-match series at National Bank Cricket Arena, Ish Sodhi of New Zealand hit 65 runs, a Test career high.
In order to enhance New Zealand’s lead in this Test, Sodhi put up a valiant battle alongside Kane Williamson.
Williamson, a former captain, and the right-handed batter collaborated to score 159 runs.
Sodhi topped his previous best of 63 runs, which he had also achieved in a match against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi in 2018, by scoring 65 runs off 180 balls.

In his solitary Test innings today, Sodhi played the most balls (180). A Test match for New Zealand against England at home in 2018 was saved by his playing a maximum of 168 balls.
New Zealand had a score of 605-9 and a 167-run advantage when this report was submitted. Alongside the tail-ender Ajaz Patel, Williamson was approaching his 200th run.
