Woman saves 64-year-old crippled guy during the blizzard. The internet is brimming with stories, and many people like hearing inspiring accounts of spontaneous acts of kindness. In a tweet published by @KimberlyLaRussa, she says, “On Christmas Eve, a local woman received a phone call that said, “Hi, you don’t know me, but I have your brother.” The woman’s brother’s name is Joey. He is 64 years old and mentally disabled.”

She goes on to say that Joey’s sister assumed he had gone to work. However, on his way back, he became afraid and stopped. That’s when Sha’Kyra Aughtry, a woman, heard his cries for rescue. When the woman and her boyfriend saw the stranger, they immediately bring him inside. They had to remove his socks, use a hairdryer to defrost his frozen slacks, and cut the straps of a Wegman’s bag from his hands.

Sha’Kyra also bathed him, laundered his clothes, and provided him with warm blankets to keep him warm. However, because she needed more assistance, she posted a request on Facebook. Many helpful strangers soon came to her house to transport Joey to the hospital.

The Twitter source went on to say, “Sha’Kyra took the ride with Joey to the hospital so he would feel safe. “No one is going to hurt you, honey,” she said to him as they arrived and nurses took him into their care. Joey had fourth-degree frostbite. He is currently in the burn unit at ECMC.”

If anyone knows of a funding site for Joey’s hospital bills or thank you site to Sha’Kyra please share.” Another guy stated, “There are some angels in this world. Thank you for sharing this story.
