ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ministry of Health has decided to take emergency measures to combat soaring Covid cases and has announced to resume screening of passengers landing from international flights.
The development to re-screen has surfaced in the context of the resurgence of the Corona epidemic worldwide.
In this regard, written instructions are being issued by the director of Border Health Services of the health minister. The instructions hold that strict monitoring of the passengers arriving from abroad must be carried out. The airport health service staff must immediately conduct a rapid test on suspected patients.
“Two percent of passengers on each flight should be screened anyway,” it added.
Moreover, CAA and Airport Security Force are directed to support Border Health Service personnel.
Pertinently, a resurge in the covid cases has been witnessed globally, especially in neighbour state, China.
