  • Lauren Jenai is exempt from paying the $2 million bail set for her hubby.
  • The fitness instructor put up the seven-figure cash to free Franklin Tyrone Tucker.
  • The trial is anticipated to take place in the spring.

Lauren Jenai, a co-founder of CrossFit, is not liable for the $2 million bond she posted in 2019 to release her now-divorced husband from custody.

In a dramatic 11th-hour bond negotiation, the fitness instructor put up the seven-figure cash to free Franklin Tyrone Tucker, who was at the time her fiancé and was being held in a Florida jail while awaiting trial for murder.

Tucker, who adamantly maintains his innocence and is fighting the police and prosecutors in Monroe County, Florida, was detained in 2017 for a botched theft known as the “Treehouse Murder.” Tucker was charged with first-degree murder.

Since being released on the $2 million Jenai put up, he has been under house arrest. The couple wed in 2020 on Jenai’s lawn in Portland, Oregon, but the union disintegrated just a little over a year. As previously reported, the couple lacked a prenuptial agreement.

This week, sources tell us that after the initial bond arrangement expired, a Florida court reduced Tucker’s bail from $2 million to $75,000

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Lauren is no longer responsible for the $2 million in bond money. The trial is anticipated to take place in the spring.

According to the source, Jenai originally pledged two of her properties as collateral for the bond, but that bond agreement recently came to an end after three years. The judge set a fresh, significantly reduced bond to show that [Tucker] is not a flight risk.

The pair has been apart for more than a year, and after [Tucker’s] case is concluded, a divorce is anticipated, according to our insider.

While Tucker was in jail, the couple—who had been friends since they were teenagers—reconnected and later became engaged. They broke up in 2021. Even after the split, Jenai has maintained Tucker’s innocence.

She reportedly sold her CrossFit stock for over $20 million as part of her 2013 divorce from Greg Glassman, the company’s co-founder.
