Jason Wahler and Ashley Wahler spent Christmas in the hospital as their son Wyatt Wahler battled pneumonia.
On Monday, the hairstylist wrote to her Instagram followers, “Well, not the Christmas we were expecting.”
The 1-year-old “took a turn for the worst Christmas morning” after Wyatt and Delilah, his 5-year-old sister, battled what their parents “thought was a regular cold.”
Ashley, 33, described how the infant had a “high fever” and was “extremely sluggish.”
He ended up having pneumonia, so we spent the night at the children’s hospital keeping him on oxygen for breathing, she said. This man is courageous! He exhibited such bravery, and the children’s hospital went above and above by providing us with a tree of our very own to adorn.
According to the “Hills: New Beginnings” alum, she and Jason, 35, are now living at home with both of their children. She exclaimed, “Wyatt is… on the mend with lots of snuggles.
Wyatt was captured on camera dancing in his vehicle seat while listening to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Jason.
They’re both “grateful he’s on the mend,” Ashley wrote in a reposted version of the video. Nearly four years after Delilah was born, in June 2021, she and the “Laguna Beach” actor welcomed their son.
The couple, who got married in October 2013, have been open in the past about how they managed to keep their marriage intact despite Jason’s struggles with alcoholism.
The actor exclusively revealed in May that confinement during the coronavirus pandemic played a “very, very important impact” in their current dynamic.
Before lockdown, “communication… was not there,” Jason said at the time, adding that “there [were] a lot of underlying issues that needed to be rectified.”
He continued, “It provided us the chance to truly focus on self, our relationship, and the actions we needed to take. “These have been hellish years. But now that we’re here, it’s been really, really great.
