Huge win for Pakistan as, As Far As They Can Run was nominated for an Oscar. Days after transgender-themed Joyland made Academy Award history by becoming the first film from a South Asian nation to qualify for the prestigious awards, a Pakistani documentary has been shortlisted for the Oscars.

This time, it’s the Iranian-American director Tanaz Eshaghian’s movie As Far As They Can Run.

The premise of the short film centres on three young adults who enrol in a running program for disadvantaged youngsters in Pakistan in the hopes of changing attitudes in their rural town. It is a story of experience, hope, and tragedy.

Watching Ziad Zafar’s project is essential because it demonstrates the emotional journey that persons with disabilities can take.

Recently, filmmaker and producer Ziad Zafar announced the remarkable success for the Pakistani entertainment sector on Twitter.

A number of activists and filmmakers, notably Jemima Khan, responded to the development.

With the most recent achievement at the biggest entertainment awards, there are now two Pakistani films that have received critical recognition abroad.
