Punjab government has asked TikTok influencers to raise awareness about coronavirus through TikTok. However, the decision was highly trolled on social media. Some netizens spoke in favor whereas some others criticized the move.
Governor Punjab Chahudary Ghulam Sarwar, and wife met TikTok influencers conducted a meeting with popular TikTok influencers such as Haris Ali, Shehr Hayaat and Kanwal Aftab the Governor House.
TikTok is a widely-used app not only in Pakistan but in the rest of the world as well. It has been downloaded about 2bn times globally.
TikTok influencers have wide recognition in Pakistan. It seemed a good approach to create awareness about coronavirus pandemic.
Several people on Twitter shared their views regarding this move. Some people said implementing this idea is good.
