Prince William was previously awarded the title. Kate’s husband has taken on the honorary rank of Colonel of the Welsh Guards since she received it.
Queen Consort Camilla has been promoted to Colonel of the Grenadier Guards in the meantime.
This comes after Kate Middleton and Prince William attended a Christmas celebration with the Queen Consort.
