Damien Bendall goes to prison for Killamarsh killings

  • Damien Bendall killed his partner’s two children and her friend’s 11 y/o kid.
  • He used a claw hammer to hit them over the head and on the upper body.
  • He was handed a lifetime order.

Damien Bendall murdered his partner when she was pregnant, her two children, and a third kid was given a life sentence in prison.

In 2021, at a home in Derbyshire, Damien Bendall used a claw hammer to kill his four victims.

He admitted to killing Terri Harris, 35, her 11-year-old daughter Lacey Bennett, her 13-year-old son John Bennett, and Lacey’s friend Connie Gent.

He admitted to raping Lacey as well. At Derby Crown Court on Wednesday, Bendall, 32, pleaded guilty to the offences. Mr. Justice Sweeney then handed down a sentence.

He was handed a lifetime order, which means he won’t ever be let out of jail, barring incredibly compassionate conditions.

Mr. Justice Sweeney told him: “As the prosecution have said, you carried out vicious, brutal and cruel attacks on a defenseless woman and three young children, during which you went around the house attacking them.”

Ms. Harris and the kids were killed on the evening of September 18, and they were discovered dead at a home in Killamarsh’s Chandos Crescent on September 19.

“The defendant attacked them using a claw hammer which he used to hit them over the head and on the upper body,” prosecution barrister Louis Mably KC told the court.

“It was perfectly clear none of the victims stood a chance.”
