Local police responded quickly to a man who had just set fire to the walls of Buckingham Palace. After a video of the entire episode was captured, the story even became viral.

In the video in question, the man can be seen igniting the castle’s entrance gates.

Two police officers attempted to subdue the 30-year-old before the flames began to erupt by tackling him to the ground.

No later than did the metropolitan police issue a statement regarding the incident and reveal, “Shortly after 22.08hrs on Tuesday, 20 December, a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage after a small fire was seen near the Buckingham Palace gates.”
