- Carlo Ancelotti could leave Real Madrid to take charge of Brazil’s national team.
- Argentina won the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Sunday.
- Ancelotti has been mentioned as a potential replacement.
Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has downplayed rumours that he would leave the club to lead Brazil‘s national team. With 18 months left on his contract, the 63-year-old stressed that he has no plans to go sooner.
“What the future has in store for me is a mystery. Things are currently going well in Madrid “Ancelotti stated on Monday to Rai Radio in Italy.
“This season, we have a lot of objectives to meet. I’ll have time to consider my future. I have a contract with Real Madrid that runs through June 30, 2024, and if they don’t let me leave before then, I won’t leave.” Tite resigned earlier this month after Brazil’s World Cup quarterfinal loss to Croatia, leaving the role of head coach vacant.
Along with Jose Mourinho, Thomas Tuchel, and Abel Ferreira, Ancelotti has been mentioned as a potential replacement. The Italian also commended Lionel Messi and Argentina for defeating France in the World Cup championship penalty shootout on Sunday.
Argentina won the World Cup on Sunday, according to Ancelotti. “It has been a great World Cup that culminated with a fantastic final,” he added. The Argentines, in my opinion, had conviction and were led by a brilliant Messi.
