Actress Kareena Kapoor applauded Lionel Messi after Argentina defeated France to win the World Cup on Sunday. Messi emerged as the star of the game. On Instagram, Kareena posted a picture of Messi when he was young and referred to him as the “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time). Following Argentina’s triumph, several Bollywood celebs expressed their joy and delight on social media. Many also praised Kylian Mbappe’s performance in the game.

When former English footballer David Beckham published a picture of Messi as a toddler on Instagram Stories, Kareena commented, “GOAT.” Messi might be seen in the image relaxing on the turf while holding a football. He was dressed in white shorts and an orange T-shirt. Kareena also shared the People Magazine article. Messi was seen in the photos embracing his sons as he celebrated his victory on the field. “Love this” was written on a sticker that Kareena hung up.
Many famous people, including Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn, Sushmita Sen, and Abhishek Bachchan, thanked Argentina and complimented Messi after his team won the FIFA World Cup final. Abhishek wrote, “What a great and worthy World Cup Final. Congratulations to Argentina! #FIFAWorldCup #ArgentinavsFrance.” Ranveer, who watched the final in Qatar with Deepika Padukone, tweeted, “What have I just witnessed ?!?! Historic. Iconic. Pure magic. FIFA World Cup.” He further tweeted, “It had to be Him. Messi.” Shah Rukh wrote, “We are living in the time of one of the best World Cup Finals ever. I remember watching WC with my mom on a small tv….now the same excitement with my kids!! And thank and #Messi for making us all believe in talent, hard work and dreams!!”

Kareena most recently appeared with Aamir Khan, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya in Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. Although the movie did poorly at the box office, viewers adored it when it was made available on Netflix. She will now appear in The Devotion of Suspect X’s Hindi translation. Next year sees the release of another thriller she co-wrote with Hansal Mehta.
