JHELUM: A Pakistan-origin US girl has lodged a case against in-laws for allegedly torturing her in Jhelum, Bol News reported on Monday.
Police said the victim complained that they tried to set her and her two-year-old girl on fire by locking in a room. “Even my dress was torn by the torture,” she said.
The Pakistan-origin US girl said relatives of her husband snatched 7,000 US dollars and mobile phone from her. She said the in-laws got triggered after she got US visa of her husband cancelled due to his inappropriate behavior.

Police said the FIR had been lodged and soon the suspects would be arrested.
On November 9, a private TV anchorperson in his programme had claimed that senior journalist Arshad Sharif had been tortured for three hours before his murder. His nails were removed whereas his ribs and fingers were fractured, he had claimed.
“He was taken out of the vehicle and shot at very close range. The assassination was planned,” the journalist had said.
Another private TV channel had asserted, “The vehicle, which the Keyna police were looking for as it was carrying a kidnapped child, was found sometime before the murder of Arshad Sharif, the owner of the vehicle said.”
