LAHORE: Moonis Elahi, Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) leader and son of Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi, on Sunday rejected rumours of any breach in relations between his father and the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI).
In a tweet, he said, “Just met Imran Khan. Our alliance is permanent and will continue to be, God willing. The PML-N should carry on its mourning.”
Bol News reported quoting sources as saying that the meeting between Imran Khan and Moonis Elahi lasted for 20 minutes at Zaman Park, Lahore. Central PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry was also present on this occasion. Sources said Moonis Elahi took them into confidence over Parvez Elahi’s statement.

Imran Khan expressed reservation over Parvez’s statement, however, both the leaders agreed to work in collaboration. “Chaudhry yaar aenjh naa karya kar (Chaudhry, don’t make such statements buddy),” Fawad Chaudhry said to Moonis in his ear about his father’s statement.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi has rejected the criticism by Imran Khan on former Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and said that Gen Bajwa was benefactor of the PML-Q and PTI as well.
He added, “If anyone even from the PTI speaks against Bajwa, he (Pervaiz) and the PML-Q will be the first to respond as the former COAS is our benefactor.”
He expressed these views while giving an interview to private media channel in Lahore on Sunday.
The statement caused concerns among the PTI leaders, who expressed surprise and said that Parvez Elahi should not have given such a statement at this time.
However on Sunday evening, Moonis Elahi reached Zaman Park and met Imran Khan and explained the situation developed after the statement.
