- Foreign Minister Bilawal had described Modi as the “butcher of Gujarat”
- There have been protests across India against Bilawal’s remarks
KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has announced to organize rallies across the country on Sunday (tomorrow) to express solidarity with Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP’s tirade against him.
The Indian government has been fuming after Bilawal described Modi as the “Butcher of Gujarat” while responding to his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar at the United Nations after he accused Pakistan of perpetuating terrorism and sheltering Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
“I would like to remind Mr Jaishankar that Osama bin Laden is dead, but the butcher of Gujarat lives, and he is the prime minister (of India),” Bilawal responded. “He (Modi) was banned from entering this country (United States). These are the prime minister and foreign minister of RSS, which draws inspiration from Hitler’s SS,” he added.
The BJP held protests for the second day against Bilawal’s statement. The PPP also called out the BJP, saying that Bilawal’s remarks exposed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the world.
Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Chairperson BISP Shazia Marri said Bilawal Bhutto has forcefully presented the case of people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir at international forums.
She said Bilawal Bhutto has truly exposed the face of extremist Indian regime and atrocities being committed against Muslims and people of Indian-occupied Kashmir.
She announced that the PPP would hold rallies across the country on Sunday, December 18 to express solidarity with Bilawal Bhutto.
She further said that the PPP Chairman has truly exposed the face of the extremist Indian regime and atrocities being committed against Muslims and people of IIOJ&K.
“He [Bilawal] also replied to India’s statement in a befitting manner,” she said, adding that tribute will be paid to the Bilawal’s courage.
She regretted that Muslims were being oppressed and tortured in India and the foreign minister painted the true picture of India among the community of the world. She said demonstrations are being held all over India on Bilawal’s statement.
She said Pakistan always tried to develop good relations with the countries of the region including India but unfortunately, the incumbent government in India was promoting hatred and terrorism.
