Russia could unleash additional major strikes, Zelenskyy warns

  • Volodymyr Zelensky says Russia can launch additional missiles.
  • Putin met with military leaders to discuss the war’s direction.
  • Russian missile attacks left Kharkiv without power for hours.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that after a wave of Russian attacks, Russia has enough missiles to conduct additional significant strikes against Ukraine.

After Friday’s extensive attacks that involved 76 missiles, engineers are still working to restore electricity.

Given that many areas experience below-freezing conditions, the attacks have targeted civilian infrastructure.

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, has been discussing the war’s course with his military leaders.

Putin reportedly spent the whole Friday at the command center of Russia’s military operation, according to the Kremlin.

“I would like to hear your suggestions on our immediate and medium-term actions,” the Russian president said.

The meeting also included the head of the general staff and the minister of defense.

Kiev has charged Moscow with using the winter as a weapon by hitting vital infrastructure as the temperature drops.

But earlier this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to keep destroying Ukraine’s infrastructure, despite opposition to his country’s “combat missions.”

According to Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of the city, several areas of the Ukrainian capital were still without heat and electricity on Saturday. But the city’s water supply have now fully recovered.

Authorities said that Kharkiv, the country’s second largest city, now has electricity after being without it for hours due to Friday’s round of strikes that targeted energy plants all over the nation.

Local authorities reported that nine power plants may have been targeted by 76 missiles fired by Russian military as well as drone attacks.
