Vidya Balan opens up about pay parity and revealed that she is happy with what she is getting in Bollywood. Talk of equal compensation in Bollywood has been going on for quite some time. There has been a lot of talk about how much less Bollywood females get paid than their male counterparts. Many Bollywood actresses, like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, and now Vidya Balan, have spoken out against the industry’s low remuneration. Several actresses got together for a roundtable interview with media, recently to talk about their year in movies. This is where Vidya brought up the topic of gender pay gap.

When asked about gender inequality in Bollywood salaries, actress Vidya Balan breaks her silence.
A recent interview with Vidya Balan showed that the actress is content with her salary in Bollywood. Since she rarely works with “great heroes,” the Kahaani actress stated she does not have many thoughts on wage equality.

She continued by saying that she is earning a reasonable wage for the work she is doing, despite the fact that larger performers in blockbuster films could demand ten times as much. Nimrat Kaur and Mrunal Thakur, who were also included in this conversation, offered their thoughts on the matter.

Nimrat agreed that this is a balanced perspective, noting that actors typically get paid based on the quality of the audience they attract. Mrunal concluded by saying that, when it comes to money, it’s best to be up front about your expectations before agreeing to work on a film.

On the Work in front, Vidya Balan‘s upcoming projects include Neeyat and a feature with Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy that has yet to be given a title.
