Tyler Perry Speaks Out His Own Suicide Attempts

  • In response to the suicide of Stephen “tWitch” Boss.
  • Tyler Perry is talking openly about his own attempt at suicide.
  • I would have missed the best period of my life if any of those attempts had succeeded, said Perry.

Tyler Perry, 52, wrote, “I like the rest of the world is shocked by the loss of Stephen Boss, tWitch,” in an Instagram video with the simple caption “Life.”

A message “to any of you who are going through terrible times, fighting,” he continued, “is what the tragedy compelled me to communicate with you.”

The film director and actor remarked of the dancer, “I’ve only met him a few times.” He seemed to be always full of life and such a light.

Thoughts on “”With that said, I just want to take you back to a point in my life when I tried to commit suicide, a couple of times, because it was so dark I didn’t think it would get any better,” Perry said as he described some of the “dark” situations he’s personally gone through. It was so difficult for me to just get through the anguish, torture, and sexual abuse that I believed ending my life would be the only way to make things better.”

I would have missed the best period of my life if any of those attempts had succeeded, said Perry.

He continued by giving advice to those who are “going through some things” and urged them to seek assistance.

“I know it can seem hopeless, but please reach out to someone… call, ask for help if you are struggling with anything that is emotionally making you feel like you want to end your life,” the speaker said.

In the subsequent segment of the video, Perry shared a lesson he discovered while at his lowest point.

“Looking back on all those awful moments, I now understand that sometimes the pain is a buy-in. I realise it’s challenging to comprehend. Sometimes the pain is a buy-in, not always. I had to learn to view things that way in order to get through it. That is to say, if I had given up or stopped after going through all that suffering, agony, and effort, I would not have lived to reach my best years. I was paying for something and investing in it.”

“I know it doesn’t make sense to a lot of people, but for me, it was the way I was able to rationalise it, to be able to go through the pain, knowing that if I could just get through this time, there has to be something better,” Perry continued.

Per Perry, he is currently “”Life is full of joy and love, things I never thought I’d get to,” he stated, expressing that he was “the happiest I’ve ever been.” I’m saying to you that if you’re thinking of killing yourself or ending your life because you’ve already experienced a lot of hell, please, please, please consider what the other side might be. It might be fantastic. And by navigating the darkness, you would miss the best part of it. Don’t allow the darkness prevent you from arriving at this amazing location for life.”

He encouraged anyone considering suicide to dial the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

“I’m hoping you’ll ask for assistance if you need it. Telephone this number. God’s blessings on you I agree with you, “Per Perry. “I can personally attest to your ability to survive. I’m so relieved that my efforts failed. I am still here. The best time of my life, which I would not have experienced had I chosen to terminate it. I tried, but it wasn’t successful.”

He stated, “Let’s end this new year by being kind to one another and to ourselves. This will come from within. God’s blessings on you tWitch, rest in peace.”
