Sharna Burgess Calls Stephen ‘tWitch’ ‘Beast’ of a Talent

  • Sharna Burgess, a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars
  •  Is saddened by the passing of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, a friend and coworker.
  • The 37-year-old opens up to on her own mental health struggle and partnership ot.

Sharna Burgess continued by recalling a particular scene from DWTS season 20, which aired in 2015. At the time, Boss’ wife, Allison Holker Boss, was competing as a pro with singer/actor Riker Lynch, and she was paired with Army soldier and double amputee Noah Galloway.

She recalled, “I was performing our jazz number with Noah Galloway and I had some blocking and some choreography in there that was not maybe my strong suit, but it really fit for the piece. “He approached me and exclaimed how awesome that was, really loving that. That season, he had become such a fan of Noah.”

The Australian ballerina reveals that even though Burgess and Galloway came in third that season, she still takes solace in recalling Boss’ praise of her originality.

It was fantastic to have that support coming from someone who is such a beast and genius in that profession, she adds, adding that “he was constantly sharing sincere gratitude with me of everything I created with him.” He made me feel truly seen, and I was grateful for the compliment.

She says, “I believe the biggest gift that tWitch gave to the world wasn’t only his dance, [but] it was his sense of community and trying to encourage everyone around him and always offering his light to others. “He is greatly missed. He will shine brightly and be appreciated, remembered, and honored for a very long time.”

Burgess is collaborating with Movember for their #hope4theholidays campaign to raise awareness about talking about mental health while she still grieves lost her friend.

The season 27 mirrorball champion hasn’t shied away from the subject, particularly since becoming a mother to 5-month-old Zane Walker with actor Brian Austin Green.

Burgess admits, “I know not every day is going to be completely fantastic. “That is such a ridiculous thought. On some days, when I first wake up, I worry about everything. Will RSV be returning from the children’s school? Will I get in the car and have a collision? Will he and I both tumble down the stairs? Will he suddenly flip over and stop breathing? Every one of those things happens all at once, some days more so than others.”

“I believe the thing that really gets her through it sanely, whether it’s with me or with her mom or with anyone, is being able to communicate,” Green, 49, continues. And I believe that’s the secret to overall mental health.
