Charles and Camilla are vacation-ready. Thursday was Royal Carols: Together at Christmas at Westminster Abbey.

King Charles and Queen Camilla seemed happy despite the ceremony taking place on the same day as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix documentary.

The king and queen were busy on Christmas Day. The Queen visited London Community Kitchen and Buckingham Palace. The royal family celebrated personal connection with charity professionals, volunteers, frontline workers, and military members.

George, 9, and Charlotte, 7, joined Kate. Prince Louis, 4, skipped the outing. The Abbey Choir performed with Craig David, Samantha Barks, Alfie Boe, and Melanie C. William, Thomas, and Bonneville read.

96-year-old Queen Elizabeth II was also honored.

“This year’s carol service is dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the principles she showed throughout her life,” Buckingham Palace said. “These beliefs are shared by the remarkable people invited to the Abbey for their relentless work to benefit others.”

Princess of Wales performed “For Those Who Can’t Be Here” at last year’s first Christmas concert.

Catherine Zeta-Jones will narrate the ITV broadcast on Christmas Eve.

The royal family will spend Christmas in Sandringham, Queen Elizabeth’s Norfolk residence.

The royal family spent the last two Christmases apart due to COVID-19. In 2020, the Queen and Prince Philip spent Christmas at Windsor Castle. Last year, Charles and Camilla joined Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle because of coronavirus.

The royal family attends Christmas liturgy at St. Mary Magdalene and meets with the populace outside. They return to Sandringham to eat turkey.

The royal family customarily watches the Christmas broadcast at 3 p.m. local time.
