Instagram creates BeReal competitor, adds collaborative features

  • Instagram is rounding off the year with new features.
  • Users can now send a maximum of sixty letters, figures,.
  • The new features are available to Instagram users who upgrade their app.

Instagram has focused on openness and provided new tools to benefit creators and audiences. Instagram is rounding off the year with new features including Notes, Candid Stories, Group Profiles, and Collaborative Collections that are designed to improve cooperation and conversation.

With the addition of a new feature called Notes, Instagram appears to be expanding beyond its previous focus on visual content like photos and videos.

A maximum of sixty letters, figures, or emoji may be used in the tweet. You can write a note to a chosen group of your followers or Close Friends, and it will be displayed at the top of their respective inboxes. Notes stand out from other messaging apps since their messages expire after a day.

Apparently, Candid Stories is Instagram’s attempt to compete with BeReal, a popular 2022 photo-sharing app. You can use Candid to record what’s happening right now, but it will only be visible to other people who are doing the same thing. Instagram will prompt users to snap a Candid photo every day, although this reminder may be disabled in the app’s settings.

Soon, Instagram users will be able to create Group Profiles to more easily share their lives with select friends and family members.

When using the new group share function, only group members will be able to see shared media. Moreover, the photos and videos you share will appear on a distinct profile from yours.

Collaborative Collections, a new feature being tested on the site, will soon make it possible for users to compile posts with the help of their friends and other people they follow.

To play around with, there are a tonne of cool new options. Notes, Candid Stories, Group Profiles, and Collaborative Collections are all available to Instagram users who upgrade their app.
