BNP parliamentary leader Malik Naseer Ahmad Shahwani said that the elected representatives and the speaker closed their eyes and passed the constitutional resolutions in haste. In the briefing on Reko Diq agreement, the opposition’s position was that 50% of the share should be given to the province. “Last night, the schedule of the assembly meeting was suddenly changed and the meeting was called. We were not even provided the agenda till 4 o’clock,” he said.

He said that the behavior of the deputy speaker was also biased and the people of Balochistan were being mistreated. He said the Balochistan Assembly session was called on Monday which was changed at night.

“The government members seemed to be employees and not representatives of the people. Many of our members could not attend the meeting. Even if all the members of the opposition were present, we could not prevent the resolution from being passed,” Naseer Ahmad said.

He said that after the passing of the resolution from the assembly, many other powers had been entrusted to the federation, including amendment of the contract, CSR, distribution of jobs, amendment of the division of the province and the federation. “We will take this matter to the court. Amendment of the constitution is not possible through a resolution,” he said.
