KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) reprimanded the Director General Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and others for not implementing a court order regarding demolishing of illegal construction in F.B Area.
While hearing the case of not implementing a court order regarding demolishing illegal construction on Plot No R53A and Cottage Block No 9 in F.B Area.
The Director General of SBCA Deputy Director of Central SBCA and others appeared before the court.
Justice Nadeem Akhtar observed that SBCA is doing nothing.
DG SBCA submitted that the department has formed a task force and is working on a day-to-day basis.
Justice Nadeem Akhtar remarked that all illegal constructions are done with SBCA connivance and added that people appeared in the hearing not cooperating.
SBCA officials said now the Sindh government has also empowered the Deputy Commissioner (DC) to take action against illegal constructions.
Justice Nadeem Akhtar asked officials to first admit that SBCA is not doing anything but officials are trying to tell the court that the department is the best.
Court asked where is SBCA’s answer. DG SBCA sought more time to take action in this regard.
Justice Nadeem Akhtar observed that a court order has been issued in January and the FIR is being filed in December.
He observed that SBCA is a corrupt institution and its legal department is also corrupt.
The court remarked that several show-cause notices were issued to DG SBCA in other cases.

Justice Nadeem Akhtar remarked that a frivolous reply was submitted and the court rejected it.
