The actress told Variety about her “difficult” Hunger Games part. She said she was pushed to reduce weight and given “amazing responsibility” in the film series.
“Hunger Games was a huge burden,” she remarked. The major topic of debate was her weight reduction, and she said, “I don’t want girls who want to dress up like Katniss to feel like they can’t because they’re not a particular weight.” I can’t allow it penetrate my thoughts.
“When I was doing Hunger Games, nobody had ever put a woman in the lead of an action movie because it wouldn’t work,” she said. “Girls and boys can both identify with a male lead, but boys cannot identify with a female lead.”
