Shania Twain’s hit song “That Don’t Impress Me Much” is about Ryan Reynolds. This makes him happy.
He joked on Twitter, “I can’t think of a more famous, smart, and beautiful person who doesn’t impress me all that much.” “Thank you for an amazing night, @ShaniaTwain,” the Spirited star added with a heart emoji in response to the superstar’s sassy name change in her song at the People’s Choice Awards.
“Sorry not sorry, @VancityReynolds,” Twain, who is 57, tweeted to Reynolds, who is 46, with a clip of her performance from Tuesday, which has since gone viral.
“Ok, so you’re Ryan Reynolds,” she teased on stage (the original lyric from 1997 says “Brad Pitt”), and then she went on to sing the catchy chorus. She sang with a Southern accent, “That don’t impress me much,” as the camera moved to Reynolds. “You look good, but do you have the touch?”

Reynolds started laughing when Twain turned her attention to him. During the fun PCA moment, he can be seen saying, “Oh my God, me?” while pointing to himself. That night, the marketing executive won the 2022 Icon Award. He joked that he “finally tested positive for icon” and then said that his wife Blake Lively gave him “strength” after Twain gave him a playful boost.
In September, PCA’s 2022 Music Icon released the “Waking Up Dreaming” music video, which is a throwback to the 1980s and reminds us of hair metal fashion from that time. In the clip, Twain has teased hair, heavy makeup, and many different outfits, all of which have sequins. She gets ready backstage, talks with friends, and then performs.
Along with the single and video, Twain said she had signed with Republic Nashville, which is a branch of Republic Records. Twain said in a press release that she couldn’t think of a better partner than Republic Nashville. “I’m excited and honoured to be the first artist on the label and to lead the way into this new and exciting chapter. In this way, it feels like a fresh start all around, and I’m very excited about it.”
Queen of Me will be Twain’s sixth studio album. It will come out on February 3, 2023.
Twain wrote on Instagram about the album, “I want to send a clear message, especially as a woman, to always remember my power.” She also announced a tour for 2023.
