KARACHI: After a meeting held to finalize the Administrator for the metropolitan city, the name of Dr Saif ur Rehman has been agreed upon by both PPP and MQM-P.

Pertinently, a meeting was held today under the chair of CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah to decide on the matter.

Following the meeting, Saif ur Rehman has been announced as the new Administrator for the port city and a notification in this regard will be released shortly.

Dr. Saif ur Rehman presently serves as the principal secretary to the Governor of Sindh. He had served as the Municipal Commissioner KMC, DC Karachi-Central and Secretary Health Balochistan.

The meeting to decide the nomination was attended by Murtaza Wahab, provincial ministers Nasir Hussain Shah, Sharjeel Memon, Saeed Ghani and Mukesh Chawla.

Notably, the seat fell vacant after the resignation of Murtaza Wahab in October. He resigned after being irked by the Sindh High Court (SHC) verdict barring the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) from collecting taxes through K-Electric bills.

He was instructed to work on the post until the approval of his resignation.
