Amy Robach and Andrew Shue allegedly “went to mediation”

  • Before her relationship with her GMA3 co-anchor, T.J. Holmes, was made public, Amy Robach waited to announce her divorce from estranged spouse Andrew Shue.
  • A source claims that before the relationship between Holmes and Robach became public knowledge, the journalist, 49, and Shue, 55, were “almost ready to settle their divorce.”
  • The couple, who tied the knot in 2010, “were waiting on [the settlement] to tell people,” according to the source. “She went to [divorce] mediation, which is the whole reason she delayed to tell people that her marriage was finished.”

“The woman had long-term cancer. That was all she could think about “the source keeps going. She and Andrew had problems in the past, and things got harder for them as summertime rolled around this year.

Shue has remained silent on the subject and has ignored many requests for comment.

The source adds that although Robach and Holmes, who has been wed to lawyer Marilee Fiebig since 2010, developed a relationship over time, they initially rejected any prospect of dating even when others spotted it.

“Everyone was aware of their strong friendship and connection. She was experiencing a lot. There was a time, many years ago, when T.J. was quite embarrassed when another GMA cast member made a joke about how close he was to Amy “says the insider. People were aware of their friendship since “they had each experienced various things.”

The source continues, “They made jokes about how well they clicked, but they quickly shut it down and made it plain they were both dealing with their own issues and there was nothing between them.” “She and T.J. simply engaged in activities together constantly. His daughter was watched over by her daughter. They spoke frankly about it. Because their professional lives were entwined and they were best friends, he was there for her when their marriages failed, and the transition was quite seamless.”

Robach and Holmes’ connection was made public on Wednesday as a result of images showing them cuddling at a bar in New York City, taking a vacation in upstate New York, and holding hands in a car.

Both journalists deleted their Instagram accounts some hours afterwards. Following the revelation, Shue also deleted all pictures of Robach from his Instagram account on Wednesday.

Similar opinions regarding the evolution of Robach and Holmes’ relationship over time were previously expressed to PEOPLE by a second source.

According to the insider, “Amy was going through a heartache and TJ was really there for her and supportive, and that is when they started anything. “They went out together with no remorse and have been doing this in the open for much longer than a month.”

The first insider, meanwhile, emphasised  earlier that the couple did not start dating until after they each ended their marriages.

“This involved two independent individuals who gave their consent. Within a few weeks of one another in August, they both ended their marriages “added the insider. “Only after that did the relationship begin.”

According to the source, Robach “had nothing to hide,” he continued, adding that since they were both divorced, they felt very at ease dating in public afterward. Even their spouses had relocated! They weren’t concealing anything, then.”
