Hugh Jackman came out of retirement for Deadpool 3.
Hugh Jackman was questioned about Deadpool 3 while promoting The Son. The 54-year-old actor was asked how Wolverine and Deadpool came to be, referencing a recent Variety interview in which he compared the third MCU film to 48 Hours (1982). Hugh remembered how 20 minutes into Deadpool – a few weeks after Logan was revealed as his final film – he said “Uh-oh.”
Hugh Jackman drove to the beach in mid-August while on break from The Music Man on Broadway. Jackman had 8-10 months off. Hugh “truly wanted” to portray Wolverine again, his favorite role.
Hugh Jackman: Wolverine Return “Clearly Looming”
Hugh Jackman described how Ryan Reynolds harangued him about returning as Wolverine “When I got to the beach, I contacted Ryan Reynolds to see what was up. We’re here. Fast. Ryan Reynolds has ‘Please’ posters outside my home every morning. He’s always asking. “I’m done,” I said. I’m finished. When he called back, he said, ‘Are you serious?’ Ok.”
