A royal analyst claims that Prince William has a close relationship with Kate Middleton’s mother Carole Middleton and that he has found a mother figure in her after losing his own mother Diana at a young age.

Rachael Andrews, host of the royal podcast, said in an interview with OK! Magazine that she thinks the Prince of Wales admires his mother-in-law since she raised Kate Middleton and her two children, James and Pippa Middleton, after he spent most of his adult life without a mother figure.

“We’ve seen over the past few years that he (Prince William) gets on really well with them (the Middletons).” according to Andrews.

She continued, “He admires the way that Carole and Michael brought up Catherine, Pippa and James (Kate’s siblings) and that seems to be reflected in the way William is a down-to-earth father now.”

The Keeping Up with the Windsors podcast host added: “He, of course, lost Diana when he was very young and probably looks up to Carole because he’s lacked a mother figure for so much of his life With Carole and Michael, he’s got people to confide in who are removed from the monarchy.”

Before getting married in 2011, Prince William and Kate reportedly dated for about ten years; they had originally connected while attending college.

The Waleses have been married for more than ten years and have three children: Princess Charlotte, Princes George and Louis.
