With her steadfast support for victims of domestic violence, renowned Academy Award winner and Pakistani director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has once again captured hearts.
The Ms Marvel filmmaker recently revealed her audacious choice in an effort to support individuals who have experienced domestic abuse and to set an example for those who support women’s empowerment.
The director of Song of Lahore has won numerous accolades from around the world, including the coveted Lux Style Award in 2012. Since Lollywood star Feroze Khan has been nominated, the 44-year-old filmmaker has now declared that he will repay the honour. Khan is under public scrutiny and is being boycotted by his business peers after his ex-wife Aliza Sultan accused him of domestic violence.

However, Chinoy returned her 2012 LSA award in response to Khan’s candidacy in the main lead actors category, indicating that she will not remain silent if “a domestic abuser” is nominated for the most recent honors. The 3 Bahadur director then made her decision public on Instagram.
Chinoy’s decision has received praise from social media users.
Aagahi, Climate Change Animated Series, Freedom Fighters, Sitara: Let Girls Dream, A Life Too Shorts, and Ms. Marvel are some of Chinoy’s most recent works on the professional front.
