The trailer for Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming movie, An Action Hero, has returned. In the movie, he portrays an actor whose life completely changes when he is charged with the murder of a municipal councilor’s brother and his admirers start calling for a boycott. Malaika Arora, who will be making a comeback with a special dance number in the movie, is also hinted at.

The trailer makes a powerful first impression by showing Ayushmann’s car being struck by Jaideep’s vehicle. A cat-and-mouse chase scene quickly develops as Ayushmann runs away to London to protect his life from him but he follows him there as well. As London police join in on their argument, a lot of confusion results. Although the trailer features some intriguing fight scenes, Jaideep’s lines and the way he speaks with a Haryanvi accent initially catch the viewer’s attention.
Ayushmann said about the movie, “It is a genre breaker for me. It is different from my staple genre of social comedy and there is no message in it. There is pure thrill. It is a roller coaster ride. This film is about an extraordinary man in an ordinary situation. The emotion of revenge is an ordinary thing but if a superstar happens to be in that ordinary situation, how does he deal with it, is what the story is about.”
The Pataal Lok star Jaideep said he enjoyed the script for An Action Hero. “You will not be able to say who is a hero or villain. Everyone has their own reason to do things. I never thought of the character as a villain because he has strong reasons behind Ayushmann,” he said.

Anirudh Iyer, who previously worked as an assistant director on Aanand L Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Zero, is the film’s director. The screenplay was written by Neeraj Yadav.
