This is maturation! Talan Torriero was once known as one of Laguna Beach’s resident heartthrobs, and he believes fans will be surprised to learn what he’s up to now.
“They’re going to be pretty shocked to know I live in Nebraska,” the former MTV star, 36, told Us Weekly exclusively on Wednesday, November 2, ahead of the release of Laguna Beach on Netflix. “What a difference. I never imagined myself as an 18-year-old kid filming a reality show on the beach in Orange County, let alone knowing where Nebraska was on a map. But I’m having a great time.”
With wife Danielle Torriero, whom he married in June 2014, he has a son, Bronson, 5, and a daughter, Hudson, 23 months.
“We’re building our dream house, which I’m super excited to show more people that,” Talan told Us. “But yeah, life is good. Life is normal.”
The former reality star explained that he and his family chose Nebraska as their new home because his wife grew up there. “However, it was my idea to move here,” Talan told Us. “When we first started dating, I believe it was in her plans to live in California or to return one day.” But as we thought more about our children and our lifestyle, Nebraska just made more sense.”
Despite the fact that Nebraska is thousands of miles away from Orange County, Talan’s eldest child is aware of his father’s Laguna Beach past — sort of.
“He’s aware of TikTok because people keep telling him, ‘You know, your dad’s on TikTok,'” he explained. “It then progressed to, ‘Well, why do people follow you on TikTok?'” And we watched an episode of the show, and he thought it was kind of strange. But I don’t believe he fully understands it yet.”
