At the COP27 UN climate conference, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi demanded an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in a speech before the World Leaders Summit.
The entire world is suffering because of the war between Russia and Ukraine,” Sisi said. “This war must stop, this war, and the suffering it has caused, must finish.
Thousands of climate negotiators and supporters will assemble in Sharm El-Sheikh, an Egyptian resort city, for this year’s UN climate summit in order to set higher goals for the global warming catastrophe. Over the next two weeks, negotiators from over 200 countries will discuss future renewable energy options in an effort to avert the worst effects of the climate problem.
In order to convince stakeholders to release “sufficient money” to address the challenge of climate change, Sisi urged global leaders to immediately take “additional measures and actions” to define how they will reduce emissions.
