SNL’s Third Host Dave Chappelle with Musical Guest Black Star

  • Dave Chappelle is returning to host SNL for the third time.
  • He will be joined by Black Star, the hip-hop duo consisting of Yasiin “Mos Def” Bey and Talib Kweli.
  • This is his third time hosting during an election season.

The Five-Timers Club jacket is getting closer to Dave Chappelle’s reach in the world of comedy.

The Emmy Award-winning comic, 49, will host the venerable sketch comedy programme on Nov. 12 for the third time with musical guest Black Star, according to a Saturday Night Live announcement this past weekend (the hip hop duo consisting of Yasiin “Mos Def” Bey and Talib Kweli).

In 2016 and 2020, he presided over SNL, winning an Emmy each time for outstanding guest actor in a comedy series. This is Chappelle’s third time serving as host during an election.

The 48th season of Saturday Night Live has featured hosts and musical guests such Amy Schumer, Megan Thee Stallion, and Jack Harlow. Chappelle’s forthcoming hosting role will take place during this season.

The Half Baked actor has recently shared the stage with comedians like Chris Rock and Kevin Hart. On Wednesday, they made a surprise performance together at New York City’s Blue Note jazz club. In addition, he paid tribute to his late friend and fellow comedian Bob Saget for the Netflix show A Tribute to Bob Saget.

Additionally, he attended a private screening of Will Smith’s Emancipation last month where he was joined by Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Tyler Perry, and other celebrities

His return to SNL will undoubtedly draw a lot of attention from both his supporters and detractors. Following criticism from the LGBTQ community over transphobic jokes in his Netflix stand-up special The Closer last year, Chappelle has become the centre of intense debate.
