Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt welcomed their daughter as their first child on Sunday, making Neetu Kapoor a grandma. The renowned actor spent the majority of the day in Mumbai’s Reliance Hospital. The paparazzi waiting outside asked Neetu some questions about the newborn daughter as she left in the evening, and she politely responded to all of them.

After Alia Bhatt, Neetu’s daughter-in-law posted an Instagram message confirming the birth of her baby, Neetu was photographed leaving the hospital on Sunday evening. Neetu was met by photographers as she was getting into her car in a video posted by a paparazzo account. When prompted to comment on the birth of her grandchild, Neetu replied, “Why do you always ask me all this? What do I say? I am very happy.”

Then, one of the photographers inquires as to whether the infant girl looks more like Alia or Ranbir Kapoor. Neetu replied, “She is too small right now, just born today. So, hard to say right now but she is very cute.” The actor also gave an update on Alia Bhatt’s health post delivery. She said, “She is ekdum (totally) first class. Everything is fine.”

A brief statement that was signed by both parents served as the formal birth announcement released earlier in the day on Alia’s Instagram account. The note text read, “And in the best news of our lives : Our baby is here.. and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love – blessed and obsessed PARENTS!!!!!” The note was signed with ‘love love love’ by both Alia and Ranbir. It was accompanied by an image of a lion and lioness snuggling with a young youngster.

After nearly five years of courtship, Alia and Ranbir got married in April. While collaborating on the September release of Brahmastra, they started dating. Alia surprised everyone by announcing her pregnancy earlier in June.
