A cunning parrot sat on the shoulder of an unwary Chilean reporter before grabbing his earpiece and fleeing live on television. The amusing event was broadcast on Chilevision when journalist Nicolas Krumm spoke humorously about the increase in thefts in a neighbourhood.
During a criminal report on theft and security, video captures the moment the parrot flew up to the reporter and sat on his shoulder. Moments later, the annoying bird closes in on the journalist’s earpiece and flees with the equipment, giving the journalist an apparent brush with the scenario while on assignment.

According to the viral footage, Krumm resumed his broadcast despite the interruption while simultaneously signalling the cameraperson to grab his AirPod. The Independent stated that the parrot eventually dropped the earpiece a short distance away, allowing the crew to retrieve it.
In a similar occurrence earlier this year, a dog snatched a Russian weather reporter’s microphone and ran off with it during a live outdoor segment.
Moscow-based Mir TV meteorologist Nadezhda Serezhkina was making a live report when a golden retriever stole the microphone from her hands.
On air, Serezhkina was shown chasing after the mischievous dog before the feed cut to an anchor seated in the broadcaster’s studio.
Moments later, the reporter returned with the colourful equipment and the retriever, Martin, who was characterised by the television station as “friendly and playful.”
