  • Lyrics of Bhojpuri’s song “Lollipop Lagelu” were posted to an account that appears to belong to Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
  • The account for entertainment was suspended.

Elon Musk has long been the topic of conversation on the internet. In the past few days, his takeover of Twitter and the termination of a huge number of employees at the microblogging network have dominated the news. In the most recent turn of events, though, Musk attracted notice by tweeting a Bhojpuri song. Wow, that’s hard to believe! Indeed, it is.

Lyrics of the popular Bhojpuri song “Lollipop Lagelu” have been posted to an account that appears to belong to Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Users on Twitter, particularly desi users, were stunned to see Musk’s latest remark. To their dismay, the account did not belong to the owner of the Tesla. Even though the account had a blue checkmark and attempted to imitate Musk’s account with a similar bio and profile photo, it was determined to be a fake.

The account for entertainment was suspended. It was owned by Ian Woolford, an American-Australian lecturer at La Trobe University in Melbourne. The instructor oversees the university’s Hindi language programme and South Asian culture courses. He speaks Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, and Persian fluently. In addition, he can comprehend Bhojpuri and Maithili.

In addition to Bhojpuri, Woolford has also tweeted in Hindi. Despite the suspension of his account, many are discussing Woolford’s tweets.

Meanwhile, other individuals published screenshots of Woolford’s tweets. An individual wrote,  “Dear @elonmusk what’s happening in Twitter? What’s going on Twitter? There are two @elonmusk on Twitter with similar name, similar profile and similar Bio. Here is first @elonmusk with in English, but another @iawoolford in Hindi and My Bhojpuri language. Please take action.” Someone else said,”Who knew @elonmusk also knew “hindi”?
