LAHORE: Punjab police have arrested two more accused allegedly involved in assassination attempt of former prime minister and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.
The arrested accused Naveed disclosed the names of two accused during the interrogation and police arrested Waqas and Sajid Butt during raids.
Police sources said accused Waqas and Sajid Butt had provided a pistol to accused Naveed. Both accused were arrested from Wazirabad. They sold pistols and bullets to the accused Naveed for Rs 20,000.
The pistol used in assassination attempt on former prime minister is without license and number.

Earlier, the main accused of the murder attempt on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has been shifted to Lahore for investigations and his close family members are also detained.
Pertinently, the main accused, Naveed, has admitted that he tried to kill Imran Khan and is a plumber by profession.
On the other hand, the suspected assailant in a video statement confessed to the crime claiming that he gun attacked as Imran Khan was misleading the masses.
He also maintained that his target was only the PTI chief and no one else. The accused also submitted that he made attempt to kill Khan as party songs were being played amid Azaan.
