Dirtiest man washes after 60 years and dies weeks later

A man dubbed the “dirtiest in the world” after not washing for decades has died at the age of 94. According to reports.

Amou Haji avoided taking a shower for more than 50 years, afraid it would make him sick.

A local official stated that irritated people recently dragged him to a restroom to wash his hands.

A few months later, the man died. The Iranian state news agency IRNA reported his death on Sunday in the village of Dejgah in the country’s south.

Mr Haji stated in a documentary on his strange life that he wanted to become dirty after experiencing mental troubles as a young guy. He was then secluded.

Aside from his dislike of cleanliness, he was also afraid of fresh food and drink, believing that it would make him sick.

Instead, the rotting porcupines were his favourite diet, and he only drank water from an oil can packed with rust.

Mr Haji lived the majority of his life in the same village in the southern province of Fars, where residents constructed an open shanty.

They built the house after discovering him sleeping in a hole in the ground.

He also liked smoking animal faeces from an antique pipe over regular tobacco.

In 2013, a short documentary film titled “The Strange Life of Amou Haji” was made about his life.

If Mr Haji’s allegations of going 60 years without washing are true, he will be the world’s dirtiest man.

An Indian man named Kailash Singh, 67, claimed to have gone 39 years without showering, trailing Mr Haji by 21 years.
