Supriya Pilgaonkar has said that the rumours have startled her amid claims that she has been offered a role in the well-known fictional TV programme Anupamaa. She continued by saying that she had not participated in any such auditions and that the TV show’s production team had not contacted her.

Rupali Ganguly plays the title role in the film Anupamaa, which also stars Sudhanshu Pandey, Gaurav Khanna, and Deepak Gheewala. The mid-2020 premiere of the programme saw its success. The programme is based on the Bengali series Sreemoyee from Star Jalsha. Paras Kalnawat and Alma Hussein left the programme earlier this year for various reasons. According to recent rumours, Supriya would shortly take on a new role on the show.

Supriya Pilgaonkar told Bollywood media, “This is very surprising. It is not true. I have been reading about this news online and I am surprised how people make up stories. I have not even received a call from the production house, leave alone giving an audition. It is an interesting show and on my recent visit to London, people were asking me about it. I do watch the show but I have not been approached for it.”
